The ENPONA project is proposed to be developed under the Specific Support Action SSA for Associated Candidate Countries Call (call identifier FP6-2004-ACC-SSA-2), a specific call designated to answer to a specific situation involving Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.
The specific objective of this project is to reinforce the S&T potential of our research centre in a specific research area, but the final result contribute to the scientific, technological and industrial capacity of the country and it will be a contribution to raising the chances of Romania to achieve the standard for the integration in 2007.
The goal of the proposal is to reinforce the capacity of ICECHIM to participate at FP6 projects in the third priority NMP. The objective is to enlarge the participation to all type of instruments, especially to increase the possibility of ICECHIM - Polymer Department to be accepted as a preferred partner in Integrated Projects, NEST, STREP and CRAFT projects focused on the design, preparation and characterization of new nanostructured polymeric materials.
This project will offer a unique opportunity to support the efforts of ICECHIM - Polymer Department to integrate in the European scientific community acting in Nanosciences and Nanomaterials fields, developing its present competence and skills in specific area such as development of nanostructured polymeric materials (containing more specific research interests:
- design and develop new complex multifunctional materials;
- novel multi-functional materials for multi-sectoral applications by following new design approaches and materials processing solutions, such as "learning from nature" or materials "made to measure", using where appropriate the potential of nanotechnology;
- "Intelligent" biomaterials for tissue repair and regeneration;
- new composite polymeric materials all of them being specific subjects in the 3rd thematic priority "Nanotechnology and nanosciences, knowledge-based multifunctional materials and new production processes and devices".
